40 Women to Watch 2019: Huda Idrees is empowering people to take ownership of their health
Huda Idrees is part of The Tempest’s 40 Women to Watch 2019, which spotlights extraordinary women and femmes making waves in their industries or passions of choice.
Huda Idrees is the founder and CEO of Dot Health, a smartphone app and online portal that allows users easy access and ownership of their personal health data. An Industrial Engineering grad, Huda’s talent for problem-solving led her to create a system which allows for safe transfer and storage of a patient’s medical records.
Huda is a strong advocate for diversity in the tech industry and practices what she preaches. She has created a diverse and inclusive environment at Dot Health with over 50% of leadership positions filled by women.
In her spare time, the Canadian engineer not only serves on the Canadian Federal Economic Strategy Table for Health and Biosciences Board and the Sinai Health System Board, but also mentors young programmers and skydives for fun!
