#FreedomOfSpeech exposed the heartbreaking reality of racism in Australia
The response was as huge as it was heartbreaking.

On Australia’s Harmony Day, which is meant to celebrate diversity in the country, the government announced it was planning to go ahead with a plan to overhaul Australia’s law against hate speech.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s statements that the law was limited free speech, sparked the response.
.@TurnbullMalcolm: right now 18C has a 'chilling' effect on free speech #auspol MORE: https://t.co/ykA30Ka9Sn pic.twitter.com/I4nXAye1P3

In response, Benjamin Law proposed Australians share their stories of being verbally harassed, abused and discriminated against to show exactly what kind of “free speech” Turnbull was so concerned about stifling. The response was as huge as it was heartbreaking.
