This week, the head of the Dominican Republic’s immigration agency announced that the deportation of non-citizens without legal residency will resume soon. In other words, Haitians, or anyone dark enough to pass as one, will be repatriated.
This potential mass deportation has attracted outrage from around the world, with some comparing the Dominican Republic’s ethnic cleansing to Nazi Germany’s ostracism of Jews.
